Reversi
Flip discs to outnumber the computer and dominate the board.
How to play Reversi
You play the white discs and move first; the computer plays black. A legal move places a disc so that it brackets one or more straight lines of the opponent’s discs between your new disc and another of yours — every bracketed disc then flips to your color. Your legal squares are shown as dots.
- If you have no legal move, your turn is skipped. When neither side can move, whoever has more discs wins.
- Grab the corners — they can never be flipped back.
Reversi — frequently asked questions
How do you play Reversi (Othello)?
Place a disc so it traps a straight line of the opponent’s discs between it and another of your discs; those trapped discs flip to your color. The player with the most discs at the end wins.
What is the best strategy in Reversi?
Prioritize corners (they can never be flipped), avoid the squares next to empty corners, and value mobility over simply flipping the most discs early.
Is Reversi free to play?
Yes — it is completely free, with no download and no sign-up.
