How to play Carrom

You pot the light discs; the computer pots the dark ones. Your striker rests on the baseline at the bottom — drag along the baseline to slide it left or right, then pull back from the striker like a slingshot to aim and set power (the further you pull, the harder the flick) and release to shoot. Sink a light disc into any of the four corner pockets to score and shoot again; miss and the turn passes to the computer. Pocketing the striker is a foul and returns one of your discs. Pot the patterned Queen and then "cover" her by sinking one of your discs on the same or next turn, or she goes back to the centre. Clear all your discs and secure the Queen to win.

Carrom — frequently asked questions

How do I aim and shoot the striker?

Drag backwards from the striker as if pulling a slingshot: the shot fires in the opposite direction to your pull, and the pull distance sets the power (capped at maximum). Release to flick. You can also drag sideways along your baseline first to reposition the striker.

What is the Queen and how do I keep her?

The Queen is the distinct ringed, starred disc in the centre. To claim her you must pot her AND then "cover" her by pocketing one of your own discs on the same turn or the very next one. If you fail to cover her, she is returned to the centre spot.

What counts as a foul?

Pocketing the striker itself is a foul — you lose your turn and one of your already-potted discs is placed back on the board near the centre. Potting the opponent's colour also ends your turn.

How do I win a game of Carrom?

Pocket all nine of your light discs and legally secure the Queen before the computer clears its dark discs. Each win you earn is added to your all-time total on the leaderboard.

Is Carrom free to play?

Yes — Carrom is completely free on Inkplay, with no download, no sign-up, and no in-game purchases. Open the page and play instantly on desktop or mobile.

Can I play Carrom unblocked?

Yes. Carrom runs entirely in your browser with no download, install, or plugins, so it loads instantly and keeps working even on school or work networks where bigger game sites get blocked.
