How to play Slice

Shapes — circles, squares and stars in different shades — get flung up from the bottom of the screen in curving arcs. Drag your mouse (or swipe your finger) straight through a shape while it is in the air to slice it in two and score a point; a glowing blade trail follows your cursor. Swipe through several shapes in a single stroke to score a combo with bonus points. Watch out for the dark bombs with a lit fuse — slice one and the game ends instantly. You can also lose by letting three ordinary shapes fall past the bottom unsliced. Each wave throws more shapes, and more bombs, at you.

Slice — frequently asked questions

How do I slice a shape?

Press and drag across it — a quick swipe with the mouse or finger. A slow crawl or a simple tap will not cut; the blade only slices when it is actually moving through the shape, just like drawing a knife across it.

What happens if I hit a bomb?

Slicing a bomb — the dark ball with a burning fuse — ends the run immediately, no matter how high your score. Swipe around them and only cut the plain shapes.

How does the combo work?

If your single continuous swipe passes through two or more shapes, you earn a combo: each extra shape in that stroke is worth a bonus point on top of the base score, and a combo banner flashes up. Line up shapes and take them out in one clean cut for the most points.

When does the game end?

Two ways: slice a bomb, or let three normal shapes drop off the bottom of the screen without slicing them. Your score is the number of shapes you sliced, and your best score is saved on this device.
