How to play Tone Switch

Tap the screen, click, or press Space to hop the ball upward against gravity as it climbs the tower. Each spinning ring is split into four segments with different patterns — solid, striped, dotted and outline. The ball can only pass through the segment whose pattern matches its own, so time your hops until the matching part lines up at the bottom of the ring. Grab the small switcher between rings to change the ball's pattern. Miss the pattern or fall off the bottom and the run ends. Score one point per ring passed.

Tone Switch — frequently asked questions

Why is the game in black and white instead of colours?

Every Inkplay game is pure grayscale, so the four ring segments are told apart by pattern — solid, striped, dotted and outline — rather than by colour. Match the ball’s pattern to the segment.

How do I change the ball’s pattern?

Pass through the small switcher pip that floats between each pair of rings; it swaps the ball to a new pattern so you can line up the next ring.

How is the score calculated?

You earn one point for every ring you pass cleanly. The game is endless, so keep hopping to beat your best.
