How to play Hitori

Shade cells until no number appears more than once unshaded in any row or column. Two rules guide you: shaded cells may never touch edge-to-edge, and all the unshaded cells must stay connected as one group. Satisfy all three conditions at once to solve it — fastest time wins.

Duplicate numbers — so each row and column ends up with no repeated unshaded value.

Can shaded cells touch?

No — two shaded cells may never be orthogonally adjacent, and the unshaded cells must all connect.
