Peak Dash

A tight precision platformer: run, wall-jump and one mid-air dash your way up twelve peaks.

How to play Peak Dash

Swipe (or use the arrows) to move

You are a nimble climber, and the whole game is about tight, responsive movement. Run with the arrow keys or A/D, and jump with , W or Space. Hold the button for a higher hop and tap it for a small one. A little coyote time and jump buffering make edges and landings forgiving. Slide down walls and press jump while touching one to wall-jump off it, bouncing up chimneys; hold Z/K to grab and cling. Your signature move is a single mid-air dash (X, J or Shift) that fires in any of eight directions. Hold a direction to aim it. You only get one dash in the air, but it refills the instant you land, grab a wall, or grab a glowing dash crystal, so chaining dashes crystal to crystal is the key to the trickier rooms. Each of the twelve single-screen rooms introduces something new: spikes, springs, moving platforms and crumbling blocks that fall the moment you stand on them, and the mountain palette shifts as you climb. Touch a spike or fall and you respawn instantly at the room start; a death counter keeps score, but there is no game over. Your rank is the highest room you reach, so climb as far as you can.

Peak Dash: frequently asked questions

What are the controls in Peak Dash?

Move with the arrow keys or A/D, and jump with Up, W or Space. Hold jump for a higher leap. Dash with X, J or Shift, aiming it by holding a direction, and grab walls with Z or K. On a touch screen there are on-screen move, jump, dash and grab buttons.

How does the dash work and how do I get it back?

You have one air dash: a quick burst in any of eight directions that you aim by holding a movement direction. It recharges automatically the moment you land on ground, touch or grab a wall, or grab a floating dash crystal. That is why the harder rooms are built around dashing from one crystal to the next without touching down.

How do wall-jumps, springs and crumbling blocks work?

Press into a wall while airborne to slide down it, then press jump to wall-jump away and upward. Alternate between two walls to climb a chimney. Springs fling you high (hold a direction to steer as you rise) and also refill your dash. Crumbling blocks fall away a moment after you step on them, so keep moving across them and never stop.

Is Peak Dash free, does it work on mobile, and how do I win?

Yes. It runs free in your browser with no download or sign-up, and full touch controls make it play on phones and tablets. Death is instant and forgiving: you respawn at the start of the current room with no penalty except the death counter. Clear all twelve escalating rooms to reach the golden summit; the leaderboard ranks the highest peak you have reached.

Is Peak Dash free to play?
