How to play Shape Escape
Shape Escape is a gentle, minimalist puzzle-platformer about a little cast of coloured shapes that can only get out by helping each other. Every level holds several rectangles, and each one has a talent: the small amber block is nimble and quick, the teal block is tall and makes a high step, the pink block is floaty and drifts across wide gaps in low gravity, the wide green block is heavy (slow, but the only one weighty enough to hold down a switch) and the violet block can double-jump in mid-air. You control just one shape at a time: move with A/D or the arrow keys, jump with W, ↑ or Space, and press Tab (or tap a colour chip, or the shape itself) to switch to another. The goal is simple to say and fun to solve: get every shape onto its own matching coloured door. Because a shape can stand on top of another shape, the trick is to use your friends as stepping stones, platforms and bridges: park the heavy block as a step so the nimble one can climb to a high ledge, float the pink block over a pit, ride a moving platform up, or hold a weight switch to open a gate. Remember that a shape which reaches its door is gone for good, so send your living platforms home last! There are twelve escalating levels, each teaching one new idea, and if a shape falls into a pit it simply returns to its checkpoint. Clear all twelve as fast as you can. Your best total escape time goes on the leaderboard. On phones, use the on-screen move, jump, switch and restart buttons.

How do I control the shapes in Shape Escape?
You steer one shape at a time. Move with A/D or the arrow keys and jump with W, Up or Space. Press Tab to cycle to the next shape, or tap a coloured chip at the bottom (or tap a shape directly) to take control of it. On touch screens there are on-screen move, jump, switch and restart buttons.
What is the goal of each level?
Get every shape onto its own matching coloured door. Since each shape has a different ability and can stand on top of the others, you cooperate them (stacking, bridging and boosting) until all of them have reached their exits. Only then does the level clear and the next one begin.
Why can I not reach a door on my own?
That is the puzzle! Some doors are too high, too far, or behind a gate. Use another shape as a stepping stone (stand the nimble block on the wide heavy one to climb), float the low-gravity block across a gap, ride a moving platform, or keep the heavy block on a weight switch to hold a gate open. A shape that enters its door disappears, so send your platform shapes home last.
