Snake Merge
Steer your snake, feast on fruit, and outgrow the arena.
How to play Snake Merge
Move your mouse and the snake follows it like a joystick: the head keeps turning toward your pointer. Run over fruit to grow and score. Hold the mouse button (or Space) to boost; it costs a little length. If your head touches a wall or another snake's body you crash, but if a rival hits you, they burst into fruit you can eat.
Steering is the whole game
Your snake never stops moving. The head turns toward your mouse pointer at a fixed rate, like pushing a joystick, and every segment behind it follows the exact path the head traced. That one rule explains most deaths: if you notice a rival late, the turn you need may be wider than the turn you can make. Good players steer early and gently. Sharp panic turns work at short length, but a long snake carves a wide arc, so leave more room the bigger you get.
Fruit, growth, and what to eat first
Fruit is everywhere, and none of it moves, so greed is about routing rather than reflexes. Cherries, apples, and oranges are worth one point, grapes, bananas, and kiwis two, and a whole watermelon three. Early on, eat whatever sits along your path and keep moving. Once rivals die near you, drop everything: a crashed snake bursts into a trail of fruit worth ten times what casual grazing pays, and that pile is what turns a 40-point run into a 200-point one.
Boost like it costs something, because it does
Holding the button or Space roughly doubles your speed and burns length while you hold it, leaving little crumbs behind you. Two moments justify the cost. First, racing to a fresh fruit burst before a rival reaches it. Second, cutting across a rival's nose: dart your body in front of a chasing head and the crash is theirs, not yours. Boosting to travel faster in open space just shrinks you for nothing.
Fighting the other snakes
Every snake in the arena dies the same way: head touches body. That means size is defense, but position is offense. The classic kill is the cutoff, where you accelerate past a rival's head and let them plow into your side. Circling also works on smaller snakes: wrap around one and tighten slowly until they have nowhere left to turn. While you do this, watch the minimap in the corner. It shows every snake as a dot, and a tight cluster of dots usually marks a feeding frenzy worth crashing.

Snake Merge: frequently asked questions
How do I steer the snake?
Point your mouse (or drag a finger) where you want to go. The head steers toward the pointer, and the body follows the exact path the head took.
What does boosting do?
Hold the mouse button or Space to speed up. Boosting slowly burns your length, so use it to grab fruit first or dodge a rival, not all the time.
How do I beat the other snakes?
Snakes die when their head hits a body. Cut across a rival so they run into your side, then eat the fruit they leave behind.
Why does my snake keep turning in a circle?
The head always chases the pointer. If the pointer sits close to the head, tiny hand movements translate into big direction swings. Keep the pointer farther out for smooth lines.
Are there walls or edges?
No. The world never ends, so there is nothing to hit but other snakes. Wander as far as you like; fruit and rivals always show up around you.
Can I die by touching my own body?
No. Crossing over yourself is safe, and coiling into a spiral is actually a good defensive shape while you wait out a bigger rival.
What happens when a rival snake dies?
Its whole body bursts into a line of fruit. Eating a full trail is the fastest growth in the game, so being second on the scene matters more than getting the kill.
Does my score carry between runs?
