How to play Star Battle
The grid is split into bold outlined regions. Your job is to place stars so that every row, every column and every region contains exactly the same number of stars — one on the easy boards, more on the harder ones (the status line tells you how many). The one rule that ties it together: no two stars may touch, not even diagonally, so each star always sits alone with empty cells all around it. Click a cell once to drop a dot (a reminder that the cell stays empty), click again to place a star, and click a third time to clear it. Solve it as fast as you can to beat your best time.

How many stars go in each row?
The same number in every row, column and region. Easy puzzles use one star per line; larger boards ask for two. The status bar always shows the current target.
Can two stars be next to each other?
No. Stars can never touch — not side by side, and not diagonally. Every star must have only empty cells in the eight positions around it.
What are the dots for?
Dots are your own marks for cells you have worked out must stay empty. They have no effect on the solution; they just help you keep track. Click again to turn a dot into a star.
